David Horsup co-leads Nalco Champion's global RD&E team with primary focus on solving oil and gas production’s toughest challenges.
David Horsup is vice president of Nalco Champion’s global Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) operations for the upstream business.
Horsup leads a team of ~250 scientists and engineers across eight global technology centers and is passionate about driving innovation and empowering teams to ‘connect the dots’ between different industries to solve the toughest challenges faced in the oil and gas sector. Previously, he was vice president of Nalco Energy Services’ global RD&E function and has served in various upstream and downstream technology leadership positions during his 25 years in the oil and gas industry.Horsup joined Nalco in 1992 as a chemist in the United Kingdom. He holds a Ph.D. in Emulsion and Surfactant Science and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from The University of Hull, United Kingdom. He has numerous patents and technical papers in oilfield chemistry and application. Horsup currently serves on several technology boards and is also a board member for the People Helping People Foundation International – a charity focused on helping the poor in the Philippines.
